ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
Pre KG – Continuous and comprehensive evaluation takes place in a non-threatening manner through observation of the child’s performance during class activities. Areas assessed are:
Physical Development and Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Linguistic & Logical Skills
Kindergarten – Assessment takes place in both Formative and Summative modes. Summative Assessment takes place twice a year. The parameters of Assessment include: Literacy Skills, Numeracy Skills, Fine & Gross Motor Skills, Art Integrated Learning & Personal, Socio-Emotional Well-being.
Classes | & Il - These classes will have Periodic Assessments. There will be a series of Six Assessments paced out during the academic year. These students will not be permitted to carry books in their bag. All books will be kept in the School itself: From time to time Parents will be informed about Portions covered and before each Assessment they will be given Worksheets to help with Revision. No Home work is given for students of these classes. One of the Assessments in each term will be an Interdisciplinary activity.
Classes III- V – The classes will have 2 Terms. In each Term they will have two Periodic Tests and One Terminal Exam. The entire syllabus taught in a Term will be assessed during the Terminal Exams- However portions will not be carried over for Assessment from one Term to the other. Portions for Periodic Test / Exams will be informed and Answer Papers will be sent home to the parents for their perusal. These should be counter-signed and returned the following day itself. One of the Assessments in each term will be an Interdisciplinary activity.
Classes VI to VIII - The classes will have 2 terms and in each Term there will be two Periodic Tests and One Terminal Exam. Portions for Periodic Test / Exams will be informed and Answer Papers will be sent home to the parents for their perusal. These should be counter-signed and returned the following day itself.
The weightage given to marks for Periodic Test / Terminal Exam will be as follows:
Classes IX & X - The classes will continue to have a system of Periodic Assessments followed by an Annual Exam. In Class IX, a student who fails to secure 33% of marks in the Continuous Promotion Record for each of the subjects, is not eligible for Promotion to Class X.
Classes XI & XII – These classes will continue to have a system of Unit Tests and Terminal Examinations. In Class XI, a student who fails to secure 33% of marks in the Continuous Promotion Record for each of the subjects, is not eligible for Promotion to Class XII.
ASSISI COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT AND SAFAL
The Assisi Competency Assessment is part of all the examinations and gives due weightage to competency-based questions as envisaged in National Education Policy. This prepares students for the Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning (SAFAL) conducted by CBSE for Classes Ill, V and VIIl. Teachers also assess whether the students have attained the learning outcome meant for their level and re-strategize accordingly.
SCIENCE OLYMPIAD FOUNDATION
The school conducts various SOF International Olympiads in General Knowledge, English, Science, Mathematics, Cyber, Social Studies and Commerce to help students assess themselves as per national and international standards.
ASSISI MERIT SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION
The prestigious Assisi Merit Scholarship Examination is conducted for all the students of KG to Class XII. An approximate total amount of Rs. 1, 75,000/- is given as the prize money to the A & B grade holders.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR LATIN CATHOLIC STUDENTS
Our school runs under the aegis of Archdiocese of Verapoly. Our institution recognizes the meritorious students belonging to the Latin Catholic community by offering the Latin Catholic Scholarship Award for students.
